Every ANTA curtain starts with fabric from our own Highland and Lowland Tweed collections, woven here in Scotland. The yarn-dyed fabric gives it real depth, and each design is unique to ANTA - it genuinely shifts colour through the day as the light changes, something you don't get from a printed or synthetic curtain fabric.

Why Made to Measure

Off-the-shelf curtains are a compromise: standard drops, standard widths, and a fit that's rarely perfect. Made to measure solves that properly.

• Full-length curtains make a room feel taller and more finished than anything that stops short of the floor or sill.
• Fabric choice does real work on a room - a tweed with warm tones can pull together a colour scheme that otherwise feels disconnected.
• A true-to-window fit means the fabric drapes the way it's meant to, rather than bunching, gapping, or dragging.

Choosing Your Heading Style

The heading style changes both the look of a curtain and how it behaves day to day. We offer four -  

Box pleat - crisp, architectural folds that hold their shape well in a formal or contemporary room, and stack neatly when opened.

Pinch pleat - the classic choice for a traditional interior; deep, tailored folds that give a curtain real substance and weight.

Pencil pleat - a flexible, gathered heading that works equally well in period and modern homes, and adjusts easily if you ever change your pole or track.

Eyelet - the most contemporary option, with soft, even folds that slide smoothly along the pole - a good fit if you open and close your curtains often. Available in a choice of finishes and sizes to suit your pole

Lined as Standard, Finished by Hand

Every ANTA curtain is fully lined as standard. Lining isn't just a finishing touch - it improves how the fabric hangs, adds a genuine layer of insulation against the cold, and gives you real control over light in the room, whether that's blocking early summer mornings or keeping a winter evening properly dark and warm.

For older properties or draughtier windows and doors, we can also add an interlining between the fabric and lining for an extra layer of insulation - a good option if you're looking to keep a room warmer through the colder months.

Made with care in Scotland

ANTA's curtain-making traces back to founder Annie Stewart, who first began making curtains as a way to support her studies. Over 40 years on, every pair is still cut and finished by hand, from the first measurements through to the final stitch. It's a slower way of making curtains than most of the market - but it's why an ANTA curtain is built to hang well for years, not just look good in the first month.

How long does it take to get made to measure curtains from ANTA? 

Approximately 6 weeks, we will keep you up to date throughout the order process 

What's the difference between pencil pleat and eyelet curtains? Pencil pleat gives a traditional, gathered look and suits most pole and track types; eyelet is more contemporary, with the pole running straight through the fabric, and tends to open and close more smoothly.

Do I need to measure my windows before booking an appointment? No - while it helps to have a rough idea of the length you'd like, our team takes exact measurements as part of the appointment or if you are happy to measure yourself you can send your measurements here 

Are ANTA curtains lined? Yes, every curtain is fully lined as standard, which improves drape, adds insulation, and helps control light in the room. Interlining is an optional extra for additional warmth.

Can I order fabric swatches before committing? Yes - this week we are offering 3 FREE swatches so you can see the tweed's true colour in your own home before ordering.
