Based in our Head Office in Fearn, Rachel Reid is an interior expert who helps our highland clients create beautiful interior schemes, whether in a traditional property, modern new build, or home extension.

After 10 years at ANTA, Rachel shares with us her top 10 ANTA favourites:

If you had to recommend a curtain and blind combination what would it be?

I like a purple based scheme, so would recommend Gill Scott linen blinds finished with Ben Ghlas Lowland Tweed curtains. The combination is luxurious and looks great in a bedroom or lounge.

Favourite rug?

Neil Gordon - it is one of the newer designs in the collection. A large bespoke Neil Gordon rug on a slate floor looks amazing!neil-gordon-large-rug (1)

What’s the best piece of ANTA furniture?

A large stool, especially if it is upholstered in Benbecula Highland Tweed. The oak frame is solid, and the bronze upholstery studs finish it and make it look very smart.

What fabric would you pick for a cube?

Inverness Highland Tweed - it literally goes with everything and anything.

Tell us about cushions! What would you pick to go...

    • On a brown leather sofa: I’d balance the brown with a sophisticated dark blue. Ben Lui would be ideal for this.
    • On a cream fabric sofa: The subtle blues in Caithness Highland Tweed make a light sofa look inviting and extra comfortable!
    • On a grey sofa: Canary yellow linen looks striking against grey. It’s like a ray of sunshine!canary_1
    • On a light grey sofa: Brodie Highland Tweed stands out against light grey beautifully.

And throws! What would you pick to go...

    • On a bed with white bed linen: A neutral canvas carries Caithness so well, it’s fresh and cool.
    • On a bed with a wooden headboard: Torridon blends well with woods for a warm and cosy feel.
    • On a bed with a metal headboard: Metal can be quite masculine, so I like to pair with Duncan MacGillivray.duncan-throw

What pieces of ANTA pottery could you not live without?

    • My large mug in cream thistle for the first coffee of the day!
    • The extra large Scott serving plate when I’m entertaining. It’s an ANTA vintage classic.
    • My dogs have a pudding bowl as their water bowl in Rachel Reid (named after me!)

If you had to give an ANTA candle as a gift, which one would you pick?
  • The black ridge design with the orange and cinnamon scent is my favourite, and it would go in anybody’s home perfectly.Homepage-black-ridged
    What’s your favourite scarf?
  • Toirridon - the orangy red is such a warm cosy colour and looks great against denim.
  • Carpet bag or piece of ANTA luggage?
  • It would have to be my weekend bag in Bernary. It’s robust and practical whilst also looks gorgeous!
