Laura Stirling is an interior expert in ANTA's Glasgow showroom. Here she tells us what she loves about Glasgow, interiors and style.

Where did it all start? (where are you from, what did you study?)
I was born and brought up in Glasgow, and after leaving school studied Interior Design at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Tell us about your career, what was your first job and how did you end up at ANTA?
My first job was with Designworks in Glasgow, an interior design and architect firm. I then moved to London and worked for Andrew Martin and William Yeoward which was great fun. I returned back to Glasgow and worked in the high end residential and commercial interiors business for the past 11 years. I was always attracted to the ANTA brand and was delighted when I was given the opportunity to work for the company in 2015.

What's your favourite thing about Glasgow?
The shops and atmosphere - there is always something new and exciting going on.

How do you like to spend your spare time?
I love textile art, galleries and day trips.

What inspires you?
Embroidery, historic textiles and fashion.

What's your favourite ANTA interior combination?
Being such a textiles fan, I love combining linen in my interior schemes. The ANTA linen is so beautiful, and because the yarn is dyed before it is woven, the rich colours are evident even if you were to stretch it.  The Cairngorm design is  iconically Scottish, and I love that the tones almost reflect the colours a west coast beach.

What's your favourite ANTA product and why?
My Aberbothrie Clutch Bag because it's integral to my daily life, it holds  everything and it's like a Tardis!

Where do you like to shop?
Zara, M&S and the odd cheeky treat from Anthropologie!

What's the best gift you have ever been given?
Christian Lacroix Fur Cape.

And the worst?!
A pack of cartoon character socks.

What do you like to eat/cook?
Oriental, especially lots of fruit and veg, and as healthy as possible.KUS KUS

Where do you think is the best place in Glasgow for a) coffee? b) drinks c) dinner with friends
a) Laboratorio Espresso on West Nile Street
b) Bar Gandolfi in Candleriggs
c) Crabshakk on Argyle Street, Finnieston

What do you think will be popular or the next trends in interior design, fashion and food over the next 5 years?
Interiors - I think there will be a huge rise in multi purpose - blending spaces with emphasis on technology.

Fashion - Textured, detailed and well cut designs adaptable from day to evening wear.

Food - Experimental home-cooking, gluten free, and more understanding of ingredients and what goes into food.

What's the most important thing you have learnt from working at ANTA?
The satisfaction of completing interior projects using our beautiful, high quality fabrics and products.
